State Representative Charles E. “Chuck” Martin (R-Alpharetta), who chairs the House Higher Education Committee, presented House Resolution 827 to the FCS Innovation Academy Splatoon 3 Team in Atlanta. The resolution congratulates the team for their undefeated season in 2024 and for winning championships in esports competition.

“Esports requires strategy, communication and discipline, and this team has shown those qualities at the highest level,” said Chairman Martin. “Their success brings honor not only to Innovation Academy, but also to our community and the State of Georgia. We are proud to recognize them as champions.”

The team won the GHSA Esports State Championship at the University of West Georgia after finishing their Spring 2024 season without a loss. They later secured victory at the PlayVs National Championship Tournament, earning national recognition along with scholarships exceeding $1,000 for each player.

Head Coach Zabby Heying received praise for leadership and commitment in preparing students for competition both on and off the screen.

The resolution was adopted by the Georgia House of Representatives. It recognizes the achievements of the Innovation Academy Splatoon 3 Team and highlights esports’ increasing importance in education, teamwork, and career preparation.

Jon G. Burns is a Republican who was elected to represent Georgia’s 159th House District in 2005, succeeding Ray Holland.
