State Representatives Viola Davis, Kim Schofield, and Sandra G. Scott will host Homeowners Association (HOA), Condominium Owners Association (COA), and Property Owners Association (POA) Day at the Georgia State Capitol on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. in room 125 of the Capitol building after being postponed due to winter weather.
Rep. Davis stated, “HOA, COA and POA Day at the Capitol is about ensuring homeowners are heard. This rescheduled date allows us to come together safely and continue the important work of addressing transparency, accountability and fairness in association-governed communities.”
Rep. Scott added, “Our goal has always been meaningful participation. Rescheduling this event ensures that people can fully engage in thoughtful discussion about policies that directly affect their homes and communities.”
Rep. Schofield said, “Homeowners deserve a seat at the table. We look forward to welcoming constituents on February 10th to share their experiences and help inform legislative solutions.”
The lawmakers emphasized their continued focus on HOA, COA, and POA reform during the 2026 legislative session. They are prioritizing discussions on strengthening homeowner protections and improving accountability within association-governed communities.
The event aims to bring together homeowners, residents, association members, advocates, and policymakers for direct dialogue about issues such as due process, affordability, governance practices, and consumer protections in homeownership.
Attendees are encouraged to provide printed copies of their personal stories for legislators. Due to space limitations and scheduling constraints, participants will not meet with all legislators together in one room; submitting written accounts ensures that these perspectives reach decision-makers.
Burns was elected as a Republican representative for Georgia’s 159th House District in 2005.
