Khyri Deandre Brown, a 28-year-old from Dallas, Georgia, has been sentenced to over ten years in prison for a series of bank robberies and attempted robberies in November 2023. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Sarah E. Geraghty on June 30, 2025.

U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg stated, “Brown repeatedly threatened the lives of bank employees and customers by robbing or attempting to rob banks at gunpoint.” He emphasized the importance of law enforcement partnerships in successfully prosecuting offenders like Brown.

Paul Brown, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta, noted the collaboration between agencies that led to Brown’s arrest: “This case highlights the FBI’s commitment to working closely with our local partners to identify and arrest violent offenders who threaten public safety.”

The court heard that on November 17, 2023, Brown attempted to rob a Wells Fargo Bank branch in Hampton but fled without money after simulating he had a weapon. On November 18, he entered a Truist Bank branch in Atlanta with a firearm but left empty-handed after an unsuccessful attempt to obtain cash from a teller.

On November 22 and November 27, Brown targeted other banks using similar tactics. He succeeded only during his last attempt at Fifth Third Bank when he took money from an employee’s drawer using a Pringles can as part of his method.

Brown was arrested on November 29 by officers from the Dallas Police Department following a vehicle stop in Paulding County. During the arrest, they found cash and items linking him to the crimes.

He pleaded guilty on March 20, 2025, to charges including two counts of attempted bank robbery and one count each of armed bank robbery and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.

The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies including the FBI and several local police departments. Assistant U.S. Attorney Benjamin Wylly and former Special Assistant U.S. Attorney McClellon D. Cox III prosecuted the case.
