The Georgia Republican Party said in a post on X that Keisha Lance Bottoms’ ethics record should be scrutinized as she campaigns for governor.
The party said its statement contrasted Bottoms’ public comments on ethics with questions about contractor relationships, campaign donors, and campaign finance issues from her time in Atlanta leadership.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Bottoms’ 2017 mayoral campaign agreed to pay a $37,000 fine to the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission for campaign finance violations. The report said the agreement included excessive contributions and other contribution-related violations.
