The Georgia Senate Republican Caucus has elected Senator Jason Anavitarte as the Majority Leader of the Georgia State Senate. He will take on the role immediately, acting as the main legislative strategist and floor leader for the Senate Republican Caucus for the remainder of the 2025–2026 legislative biennium.
Senator Anavitarte expressed his gratitude by stating, “I am deeply honored by the trust my colleagues have placed in me.” He emphasized his commitment to leading with focus and discipline, reflecting on his blue-collar family roots and his dedication to improving lives across Georgia.
Anavitarte’s political career includes serving as Majority Caucus Chair since joining the Senate in 2021. His legislative efforts have focused on expanding school choice, enhancing public safety, supporting teachers, protecting children, and reducing taxes.
His earlier roles include being a member of both the Doraville City Council and the Paulding County Board of Education. Notably, he was one of Georgia’s youngest Hispanic officials when first elected. Anavitarte represents Georgia’s 31st Senate District covering Paulding and Polk counties.
