The initiative is part of the Georgia WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program, which provides benefits valued at $30 per eligible participant for use at participating local farmers’ markets while supplies last. The program aims to increase access to fresh produce for families and individuals who participate in WIC.
Any Georgia WIC participant can visit a WIC Farmers Market to receive fresh fruits and vegetables at no cost, regardless of their county of residence. Markets are scheduled as follows: Appling County (283 Walnut St, Baxley) on June 2 and June 3; Coffee County (1111 W Baker Hwy, Douglas) on June 10 and June 11; Ware County (604 Riverside Ave, Waycross) on June 17 and June 18; Bulloch County (1 W Altman St, Statesboro) on June 23 and June 24. All events will run from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
