Last week, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) introduced the America First Agriculture Commissioners and Secretaries Council. Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper has been appointed as one of the twelve members of this council. The initiative aims to gather agriculture leaders from across the country to shape federal, state, and local policy recommendations in line with President Trump’s Farmers First Agenda.

Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper expressed his enthusiasm about joining the council. He stated, “I am incredibly proud to serve as a member of the America First Agriculture Commissioners and Secretaries Council, and I look forward to working with AFPI and my fellow Council members to champion policies that put American and Georgia farmers first.” Harper emphasized Georgia’s significant role in national agricultural discussions by saying, “As one of America’s top production ag states, Georgia needs a seat at the table in the national conversation on ag policy.”

The council includes several other notable members: Arkansas Secretary of Agriculture Wes Ward; Idaho Director of Agriculture Chanel Tewalt; Indiana Director of Agriculture Don Lamb; Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig; Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell; Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture & Commerce Andy Gipson; Nebraska Director of Agriculture Sherry Vinton; Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur; South Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers; Tennessee Commissioner of Agriculture Charlie Hatcher; and Texas Commissioner of Agriculture Sid Miller.

President Trump’s Farmers First Agenda is focused on three main objectives: promoting rural prosperity, adjusting government size and orientation, and developing a nutrition policy that ensures health and safety for Americans.

AFPI operates as a nonprofit research institute dedicated to advancing policies prioritizing American interests. It focuses on principles such as liberty, free enterprise, national greatness, military superiority, and supporting American workers and communities.
