GOP Youth Advisory Council Co-Chair CJ Pearson said that conservatives should lead healthcare reform efforts with solutions aimed at reducing costs and increasing revenue without imposing new taxes.
“Conservatives shouldn’t shy away from the healthcare debate,” said Coreco Jaquan Pearson. “Our ideas are better than Dems’ ideas. Here’s one Congress should pass that would lower healthcare costs. Increase federal revenue—all without adding new taxes.”
Pearson’s comments highlight a renewed interest among Republicans in health policy reform as the party seeks to regain control of the narrative ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. According to GOP leaders, market competition, innovation, and patient choice are being emphasized as guiding principles for these reforms.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services have projected that U.S. health spending will reach $7.7 trillion by 2030, accounting for approximately 20% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Many conservative policymakers argue that deregulation and market-driven reforms are essential to curbing this increase.
In 2025, the Congressional Budget Office reported that expanding health savings accounts and relaxing coverage mandates could save the federal government more than $200 billion over a decade. This supports Republican proposals focused on cost-cutting measures.
CJ Pearson is recognized as a conservative commentator, activist, and Co-Chair of the GOP Youth Advisory Council. As a prominent voice among young Republicans, Pearson has been active in promoting conservative policy engagement and digital political outreach.
The GOP Youth Advisory Council aims to connect young conservative leaders with policymakers within the Republican Party. It focuses on enhancing youth participation in politics and shaping discussions on future-oriented policies.
