CJ Pearson, Co-Chair of the GOP Youth Advisory Council, has emphasized the need for U.S. companies to genuinely support the America First agenda rather than merely making superficial statements. This statement was made on X.

“MAGA isn’t easily fooled,” said Pearson. “We see when corporations like GM try to cozy up to President Trump with one hand—while stabbing the America First agenda in the back with the other. Lip service won’t cut it. Walk the walk or get out of the way.”

As reported by The Wall Street Journal, corporate engagement with the America First movement has been selective. Companies like General Motors (GM) have cooperated with the Trump administration on certain regulatory and trade issues while generally avoiding explicit partisan alignment. This reflects a broader pattern of issue-based involvement rather than full endorsement of the agenda.

According to OpenSecrets, GM made approximately $2.8 million in federal political contributions during the 2022 cycle, primarily to bipartisan recipients. While its public statements on America First policies were neutral, GM lobbied for select Trump-era trade and manufacturing initiatives.

Bloomberg reports that corporate America’s overall support for the America First movement is notably weaker than for other recent causes such as Black Lives Matter or Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria. Most companies engaged with the Trump administration only on specific regulatory or trade issues rather than embracing partisan positions.

According to Ballotpedia, CJ Pearson is a political activist and commentator who currently serves as Co-Chair of the GOP Youth Advisory Council. He is widely recognized for leading conservative youth outreach and public advocacy initiatives.
