GOP Youth Advisory Council co-chair CJ Pearson said that the House’s approval of a bill to prohibit taxpayer funding for gender transition procedures on minors is an important victory for protecting children.
“The House just passed a bill to ban tax dollars from funding gender transition procedures for minors,” said Coreco Jaquan Pearson. “Only 4 Democrats voted for it. 201 Democrats voted to force you to fund the mutilation of children.”
The U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation in December 2025 to block the use of federal funds for gender transition procedures on minors. The measure aligns with broader Republican efforts to protect children and restrict taxpayer-funded medical interventions.
According to reports, the bill passed largely along party lines, with only four Democrats supporting it. It prohibits federal funding under Medicaid and other programs for puberty blockers, hormone therapies, or surgeries for anyone under 18.
Polling from 2025 indicates that nearly 67% of Americans oppose taxpayer-funded gender transition procedures for minors, with strong bipartisan agreement on restricting such practices.
