Brian Kemp, the governor of Georgia and outgoing chair of the Republican Governors Association (RGA), has emphasized the role of GOP governors in driving national progress in freedom and economic growth. He pledged continued support for Republican victories in 2026. Kemp made this statement on X.
“I’ve been honored to serve as RGA chair this past year and helping lead the fight to put hardworking Americans first,” said Kemp, Governer. “Republican governors are leading the nation in freedom, innovation, growth, and opportunity. As we look towards a critical year for Republicans, I look forward to working with Greg Gianforte and Tate Reeves on delivering wins across the country.”
Kemp concluded his term as chair of the RGA after a year marked by significant election victories and strategic investments in states led by Republicans. Under his leadership, the RGA focused on pro-growth policies, fiscal responsibility, and innovation. Kemp highlighted the success of Republican governors in promoting economic opportunity and individual liberty while congratulating Montana Governor Greg Gianforte on succeeding him as chair.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, the RGA represents 27 sitting Republican governors who oversee states responsible for more than two-thirds of America’s economic growth in 2024. These states consistently rank highest for job creation, small business formation, and population growth. The organization’s data indicates that these states outperform their Democratic-led counterparts in GDP growth and inbound migration—metrics often cited by Kemp to demonstrate conservative leadership’s success.
During Kemp’s tenure as chair, the RGA concentrated on expanding GOP influence at the state level by investing heavily in legislative races for 2025 and building infrastructure ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial cycle. The RGA’s Freedom to Prosper initiative focused on economic competitiveness, regulatory reform, and public safety. Kemp coordinated with governors such as Tate Reeves of Mississippi and Greg Gianforte of Montana to maintain momentum heading into a critical election year.
Kemp is Georgia’s 83rd governor, first elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. A small business owner and former Georgia secretary of state, he has built his platform on economic development, workforce expansion, and public safety. As RGA chair in 2025, he championed state-led innovation and conservative governance, earning bipartisan recognition for steady leadership and economic stewardship. Kemp remains a prominent figure in Republican policymaking and party strategy.
The Republican Governors Association supports the election and re-election of Republican governors nationwide. Founded in 1963, it provides strategic coordination, policy development, and campaign resources to GOP-led states. The organization highlights Republican governance’s success in promoting lower taxes, safer communities, and stronger economies. With 27 sitting governors, the RGA continues to be a driving force advancing conservative leadership across the country.
