Brian Kemp, Governor of Georgia, said that the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill will benefit Georgians and praised Republican leadership for delivering on priorities. These remarks were made on X.

“The passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill is a major win for hardworking Georgians and their families,” said Kemp. “From extending vital tax cuts and securing the border, to reducing spending and unleashing American energy independence — Republicans are delivering real results and putting the American people first. Great work by President Trump, Leader Thune, Speaker Johnson, and our Republican majorities!”

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, designated as H.R. 1, was signed into law on July 4, 2025. It combines permanent tax cuts from 2017 with new deductions for tips and auto loans, an increased child tax credit, significant reductions in Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and expanded funding for defense and immigration enforcement. The bill’s legislative journey involved narrow passage in both chambers after intense debate, highlighting deep partisan divides. This information is reported by Wikipedia and Congress.gov.

According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the One Big Beautiful Bill is projected to increase the federal deficit by approximately $2.8 trillion over ten years. It is also expected to result in 10.9 million fewer people having health insurance while expanding tax breaks for families, seniors, and homeowners through a higher State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction cap and additional deductions.

Wikipedia reports that the bill provides permanent tax relief extensions and new deductions such as those for auto loans and expanded SALT limits. These measures go beyond what was offered by the 2017 tax law while imposing steeper cuts to Medicaid and SNAP than previous federal legislation. This positions it as one of the most comprehensive tax and spending bills in recent history.

Kemp has served as Governor of Georgia since 2019, following his tenure as Secretary of State and state senator. He has prioritized election security, economic growth, and conservative fiscal reforms during his time in office. By signing the One Big Beautiful Bill into law, Kemp aligns with national Republican priorities.
