Hyundai Industrial, an international automotive parts supplier, intends to invest over $24 million in a new manufacturing plant in Coweta County, Georgia, near Newnan. The investment is expected to create 100 new jobs. Governor Kemp affirmed that this project will continue to boost the auto industry and overall state economy.

The Governor’s Office issued a press release where Kemp announced the partnership with auto giants like Kia and Hyundai has drawn many suppliers resulting in job creation across Georgia. “Partners like Kia and Hyundai are attracting a large network of suppliers, creating jobs and opportunity for hardworking Georgians across the entire state,” Governor Kemp said. He added that these suppliers have pledged nearly 6,000 jobs for Georgia since last year’s announcement about the Hyundai Metaplant, especially benefiting communities outside major urban areas.

Hyundai Industrial is a Korean firm established in 1978 with headquarters in Ulsan. It specializes in producing car seats, armrests, and headrests for some of the world’s leading auto brands. The company has expressed excitement about contributing to the e-mobility transition in Georgia and fostering mutually beneficial growth with Coweta County.

Coweta County Board of Commissioners Chairman John Reidelbach extended his welcome to Hyundai Industrial Co., Ltd., as reported by the Governor’s Office press release. “We are thrilled to welcome Hyundai Industrial Co., Ltd. to Coweta County,” said Reidelbach. Highlighting the advantage of location he mentioned that having access to I-85 will make transport seamless to nearby automobile plants.

Georgia has always fostered industry practices, collaboration, and innovation which puts it at forefront player within automotive and mobility industry according to another fact released by The Governor’s Office. The rise of electric vehicles has seen Georgia investing heavily across the supply chain resulting in over $25.1 billion in investments and 29,000 job additions since 2020. The jobs in the automotive sector went up by 324 percent in fiscal year 2023 compared to fiscal year 2021, with suppliers flocking to Georgia’s mobility original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) contributing over $2 billion in investments.
