The University of Georgia Extension announced on May 21 an upcoming update session for the Great Southeast Pollinator Census. The event will offer new information for gardeners, educators, and community science volunteers interested in pollinator health in Georgia.

The session aims to inform participants about the census program, how to take part, current trends, and what recent data reveals about local pollinators. Lisa Klein with UGA Extension Gwinnett will lead the program, answering questions and providing practical advice to help attendees prepare for this year’s count. Organizers say the program is also eligible for Master Gardener continuing education credit.

According to the announcement, “Join us for this update on the Great Southeast Pollinator Census, packed with fresh insights for gardeners, educators, and community science volunteers. We’ll review what the program is, how to participate, this year’s trends, and explore what the data reveals about pollinator health in Georgia. Lisa Klein with UGA Extension Gwinnett will lead the session, answer questions and share practical takeaways to help prepare for the upcoming count. This program qualifies for Master Gardener continuing education credit.”

The University of Georgia also emphasized its commitment to accessibility: “University of Georgia is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action, Veteran, Disability Institution. If you need a reasonable accommodation or language access services, reach out using the contact information provided on this page, at least three weeks prior to the program date.”

The census provides a chance for citizens across Georgia to contribute valuable data on pollinators while learning more about their role in local ecosystems.
