Gum Springs Elementary School has been recognized as a K-Kids Distinguished Club by Kiwanis International for the 2025-26 school year, according to a May 20 announcement. The award places Gum Springs Elementary School’s K-Kids Club among only 21 clubs across the United States to receive this distinction.

The recognition highlights the achievements of the school’s K-Kids Club, which is a service leadership program for elementary-aged students. Through this club, members engage in acts of service that benefit both their school and local communities. The school also received this honor following the previous academic year.

The Jackson County School System, which includes Gum Springs Elementary School, operates seven elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools, and a career center in Jackson County, Georgia. It serves more than 11,200 students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade and emphasizes academics, arts, and athletics to support well-rounded student development and community growth.
