Several Hall County Government offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day, according to a May 12 announcement. The closures will affect administrative offices, courts, the recycling center, landfill, community centers, libraries, animal shelter, UGA Extension Office and the Hall County Government Family Health Center.

The county said that compactor sites will remain open during the holiday. Essential public safety and public works personnel are expected to continue service as usual.

Many government services remain accessible online. Residents can renew vehicle tags, pay taxes or find adoptable pets through digital platforms while physical locations are closed.

The closure may impact families who rely on county resources during holidays. In recent years, school enrollment in Hall County has seen changes; enrollment dropped by 1.9% in the 2022-23 school year compared to the previous year and totaled 33,586 students that same year. Hispanic students made up the largest ethnic group at 51.1%, followed by white students at 36.5%, black students at 7.9%, and multiracial students at 3.2%, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead for any needs related to government services due to these closures.
