The Georgia Department of Transportation announced on Apr. 7 that a section of Mt. Olive Road in Henry County will close beginning May 6 for a bridge replacement and roadway relocation project.

The closure is expected to impact local traffic as crews work to construct Bridge 1 over Walnut Creek, build retaining walls, and relocate the existing Mt. Olive Road. The project is scheduled to be completed by fall of 2026.

According to the announcement, the affected area stretches from the entrance of Henry Town Center northward for approximately 1,000 feet. Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce speed while traveling through work zones during this period.
