The Georgia Department of Transportation announced on May 13 that a road closure and traffic pacing will take place in Henry County as part of a bridge rehabilitation project at Mt. Olive Road.
The upcoming closure is scheduled to support roadway relocation and bridge construction, which officials say is necessary for ongoing infrastructure improvements. The work aims to ensure the safety and reliability of the transportation network in the area.
Traffic pacing is set to begin on May 3, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., affecting both northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 75 at mile marker 217 due to utility work involving an overhead line. Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce speed while traveling through these work zones. Real-time updates are available by calling 511, visiting the Georgia Department of Transportation’s website at 511ga.org, or using the Georgia 511 app.
