HERO will resume its 24/7 patrols and full area coverage starting July 1. For those needing assistance from HERO or CHAMP units, contact can be made through the 511GA system by dialing 511 hands-free on mobile phones, using the 511GA app available for Apple or Google devices, or visiting the website at 511GA.org. This system provides users with real-time updates on travel speeds, traffic incidents, construction events, lane closures, and severe weather data.

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is responsible for planning, constructing, and maintaining Georgia’s state and federal highways. Their involvement extends to bridge and waterway projects as well as public transit, rail systems, general aviation initiatives, and bike and pedestrian programs. GDOT also supports local governments in road maintenance efforts.
