The House Study Committee on Funding for Next Generation 9-1-1 will hold its first meeting on August 27, 2025, at Roswell City Hall in Roswell, Georgia. The committee is chaired by State Representative Chuck Martin (R-Alpharetta).

This committee was created through House Resolution 429 and will review the current funding system for 9-1-1 services in Georgia. Its goal is to examine possible reforms to ensure there is adequate and sustainable funding as the state moves from traditional 9-1-1 centers to Next Generation 9-1-1 centers.

The meeting will be open to the public, and a live stream will be available for those who wish to follow remotely.

Burns, a Republican, has served in the Georgia State House since 2005, representing the state’s 159th House District after succeeding Ray Holland.
