All three lanes of northbound traffic on I-95 at the Ogeechee River Bridge, located at the Bryan/Chatham County line, will be shifted east onto the outside shoulder beginning Friday, August 22. The lane shift is part of a bridge maintenance project conducted by L. C. Whitford Co., Inc.

While traffic will continue to flow during the work, drivers are advised to expect significant delays on August 20 and 21 as contractors modify road striping for the upcoming shift. A double lane closure is scheduled overnight on August 21 to facilitate the change. During this period, speed limits will be reduced to 60 mph. The schedule may change due to weather or other unforeseen factors.

The traffic shift will narrow to two lanes overnight on Friday, August 22 and remain in place through the weekend until Monday, August 25 as crews complete essential bridge maintenance work. All work is expected to finish and normal traffic patterns restored by August 27.

Motorists are urged to use caution in this active work zone, observe posted speed limits, and watch for message signs, barrels, or cones marking changes. Personnel and equipment will be working near travel lanes.
