IHG Hotels & Resorts announced on May 22 the opening of two new ANA Holiday Inn hotels in Japan: ANA Holiday Inn Kobe Sanda and ANA Holiday Inn Tosu. The Kobe Sanda property welcomed its first guests on April 27, while the Tosu location opened on April 28. Both hotels are operated by Select Hotels Group and are the first international full-service hotels in their respective cities.

The openings mark a milestone for the Holiday Inn brand in Japan, bringing international hospitality to Sanda City in Hyogo Prefecture and Tosu City in Saga Prefecture. The addition of these properties is intended to provide business travelers and tourists with new accommodation options, as well as reinforce IHG’s commitment to expanding its presence across Japan and Asia Pacific.

ANA Holiday Inn Kobe Sanda is situated near Woody Town Chuo Station on the Kobe Electric Railway, offering convenient access between Kobe and Osaka. The hotel features 130 guestrooms, including traditional Japanese-style rooms with tatami flooring. “Sanda is a place where a deep connection with nature and the warmth of community life come together in a very special way. It is our privilege to bring the warm, genuine hospitality that defines Holiday Inn to this city, and we look forward to welcoming guests – whether here for business, leisure, or simply a moment of calm – and making them feel genuinely at home,” said Eiji Baba, General Manager of ANA Holiday Inn Kobe Sanda.

ANA Holiday Inn Tosu is located at Tosu Junction where major expressways meet. It offers easy access from JR Tosu Station and Fukuoka Airport. With 127 modern guestrooms designed for families or solo travelers, it aims to serve as a base for exploring Kyushu. Hiroyuki Eguchi, General Manager of ANA Holiday Inn Tosu said: “Opening as the first international full-service hotel in Tosu City is a true privilege, and one we are deeply committed to honouring. Tosu sits at the centre of Kyushu’s network of roads and railways, and we see ourselves not just as a hotel but as a warm point of arrival for everyone setting out to explore this remarkable island.”

Both hotels feature Apple Road restaurants serving local and international dishes throughout the day along with flexible meeting spaces accommodating up to 250 guests each. They also offer programs such as Kids Stay & Eat Free for children aged 12 or under.

These additions follow recent openings by IHG’s Holiday Inn brand in other Japanese cities such as Sapporo and Karuizawa.
