The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced upcoming intersection improvements on US 341/SR 7 at SR 7 Conn in Peach County. The project will begin on June 2, 2025, and is expected to continue until winter of the same year.
GDOT contractors will implement a traffic detour starting Monday, June 2, to facilitate the improvements. Motorists traveling through the area are advised to be aware of warning signs that will notify them in advance about the operation. Drivers are encouraged to remain alert and reduce their speed while navigating the work zones.
Motorists should anticipate delays and exercise caution during this period. For real-time updates on work status and traffic conditions, individuals can call 511, visit the website 511ga.org, or use the Georgia 511 app.
The Georgia Department of Transportation is responsible for planning, constructing, and maintaining state and federal highways in Georgia. It also engages in various programs related to bridges, waterways, public transit, rail systems, general aviation, biking, and pedestrian pathways. GDOT supports local governments with road maintenance as well.
“Georgia DOT and its nearly 4,000 employees are committed to delivering a transportation system focused on innovation, safety, sustainability and mobility,” stated GDOT. “The Department’s vision is to boost Georgia’s competitiveness through leadership in transportation.”
