State Representative Rick Townsend of Brunswick acknowledged John Crew, the Georgia Department of Community Supervision’s Officer of the Year for 2024, in a formal event held in the House Chamber. Crew was honored with an Invitation Resolution, highlighting his remarkable service.

In his speech during the recognition, Rep. Townsend remarked, “What stands out about Officer Crew is that he serves his community, and he’s well-loved. In Brunswick, he’s instrumental in the drug court, started a chess club and works with people in his community after hours. I am honored to introduce John, thank you and congratulations.”

Officer Crew was lauded through House Resolution 525 for his 24 years of service. The resolution underscored his commitment to the department’s core values including selfless service, accountability, integrity, teamwork, and professional development.
