Traffic on I-85 and SR 42/North Druid Hills Road will be affected from June 13 to June 22, 2025, due to scheduled lane closures. The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced both daytime and overnight closures during this period.

Daytime closures are planned for Saturday, June 14, and Saturday, June 21, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. On these days, one right lane on the I-85 northbound Frontage Road from SR 42/North Druid Hills Road to Cliff Valley Way will be closed.

Overnight closures will begin on Friday, June 13 at 8 p.m. until Saturday, June 14 at 6 a.m., affecting various lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound and westbound between Buford Highway and Briarcliff Road. Pacing operations will occur at several intersections along SR 42/North Druid Hills Road starting at 9 p.m.

From Monday, June 16 through Saturday, June 21, overnight work will continue with various lane closures on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road between Buford Highway and Briarcliff Road beginning at 9 p.m. Additionally, pacing operations will take place at key intersections during the same timeframe.

Detours are in place for motorists traveling on I-85 northbound to North Druid Hills Road westbound; they should use SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound (Exit 89 A) as an alternative route. For those traveling from SR 42/North Druid Hills Road to I-85 southbound starting Wednesday, detour routes include using the I-85 northbound Frontage Road and Clairmont Road.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and exercise caution while driving through these work zones. Real-time updates on traffic conditions can be accessed by calling “511,” visiting “511ga.org,” or using the Georgia “511” app.
