The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced temporary lane closures for the State Route 400 Express Lanes project. The construction aims to add new express lanes along a 16-mile stretch from the MARTA North Springs Station in Fulton County to north of McFarland Parkway in Forsyth County.

Weather permitting, contractors will close traffic lanes to carry out roadwork activities. The closures will affect both southbound and northbound lanes on SR 400 from July 20 to July 25, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Specific sections include SR 400 Southbound from Old Milton Parkway to Holcomb Bridge Road, Holcomb Bridge Road to Abernathy Road, and Old Milton Parkway to SR 141. For northbound traffic, closures will occur from Abernathy Road to Holcomb Bridge Road, Holcomb Bridge Road to Old Milton Parkway, and Old Milton Parkway to SR 141.

Additional closures are planned for the Holcomb Bridge Road southbound entrance ramp to SR 400 southbound and Raintree Drive southbound from Market Blvd. These will also take place from July 20 to July 25 but during different hours.

Motorists should expect delays and are advised to exercise caution and reduce speed in work zones. Updates on the work schedule can be found on the SR 400 Express Lanes website. Real-time information is available by calling “511,” visiting 511ga.org, or using the “Georgia 511” app.
