Construction crews in Cherokee County will continue tree removal along Bells Ferry Road as part of a road widening project. This work, scheduled for Saturday, June 27, will necessitate periodic lane closures from Southfork Way to near Victoria Road.
The lane closures are planned between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., weather permitting. Motorists are urged to slow down and remain vigilant around the construction area.
“This is a WORK ZONE and extreme caution is necessary,” officials advised. Drivers should reduce their speed when passing through the area. To alert the public about these changes, message signs, barrels, and cones will be deployed.
Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to check real-time traffic conditions before traveling. Information can be accessed by calling 511, visiting 511ga.org, or using the Georgia 511 app.
The maintenance teams conducting this work continue to follow health guidelines to ensure safety during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
