Lane closures are scheduled this week on Bells Ferry Road in Cherokee County as part of an ongoing road widening project. The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) announced that, weather permitting, crews will close lanes at the intersection of Bells Ferry Road with Towne Lake Parkway and Othello Drive.

The closures will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., beginning Tuesday, September 30 and continuing through Saturday, October 4. Drivers traveling through the area should anticipate delays and exercise caution.

“Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app,” stated GDOT officials.

Maintenance and construction teams are continuing their work on roads and bridges while following health guidelines to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
