The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) has announced temporary lane closures on the I-285/I-20 East Interchange project. These closures are scheduled to occur from July 18 through July 25, 2025, weather permitting. The project aims to reconstruct the interstate system-to-system ramps and add connecting lanes and auxiliary lanes along I-20 east of the interchange and I-285 north of the interchange.
Daytime closures will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., affecting I-20 Eastbound between Wesley Chapel Road and Panola Road, Columbia Drive and Wesley Chapel Road, as well as connecting lanes from the I-285 Interchange to Wesley Chapel Road.
Overnight closures and traffic pacing will occur from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., with impacts on I-20 Eastbound between Wesley Chapel Road and Panola Road, Columbia Drive and Wesley Chapel Road, as well as connecting lanes from the I-285 Interchange to Wesley Chapel Road. Additional overnight work includes single to double lane closures on both southbound and northbound directions of I-285.
The Miller Road Bridge over I-20 remains closed until approximately September 2025. Detours are in place for this closure.
