The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) has announced temporary lane closures on the I-285/I-20 East Interchange project, starting Friday, July 25 through Friday, August 1, 2025. The project involves reconstructing interstate ramps and adding lanes to improve traffic flow.
During this period, daytime closures will occur from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., affecting various sections of I-20 Eastbound. Overnight closures and traffic pacing are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., impacting both I-20 Eastbound and Westbound as well as I-285 Northbound and Southbound.
“Weather permitting, the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) construction partners will temporarily close interstate lanes at the locations below for the I-285/I-20 East Interchange project.”
Additional measures include detours due to the ongoing closure of Miller Road Bridge over I-20 until September 2025.
