Traffic disruptions are expected on Interstate 85 and State Route 42/North Druid Hills Road in DeKalb County from June 6 to June 15, 2025. The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced a series of lane closures as part of the ongoing project at this location.

Daytime closures will occur on Saturday, June 7, and Saturday, June 14, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. On these days, one right lane on I-85 northbound Frontage Road will be closed from SR 42/North Druid Hills Road to Cliff Valley Way.

Overnight closures will begin on Friday, June 6, from 8 p.m. to Saturday, June 7, at 6 a.m. These include pacing operations at several intersections along SR 42/North Druid Hills Road starting at 9 p.m., as well as the closure of one right lane on the I-85 northbound off-ramp to SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound until 11 a.m. Additionally, one right lane on I-85 southbound from Clairmont Road to Lenox Road will be closed.

Further overnight closures are scheduled for Sunday, June 8, through Monday, June 9. Various lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound and westbound between Buford Highway and Briarcliff Road will be affected starting at 9 p.m., along with one right lane closure on I-85 southbound at SR 42/North Druid Hills Road.

From Monday, June 9 through Saturday, June 14, overnight work will continue from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., affecting lanes on both SR 42/North Druid Hills Road and I-85 northbound Frontage Road.

Motorists should expect delays and exercise caution while traveling through these work zones. Detour maps are available for those needing alternative routes during these times. For real-time updates on traffic conditions and work status, travelers can call the Georgia Department of Transportation’s information line or visit their website.
