Overnight lane closures are scheduled for the Interstate 85 and State Route 42/North Druid Hills Road area in DeKalb County from November 24 through November 26, 2025. The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced these closures as part of ongoing work on the I-85 @ SR 42/North Druid Hills project.

On Monday, November 24, and Tuesday, November 25, lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound and westbound at I-85 will be closed between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Additionally, other closures will take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. during the same dates.

Detours will affect drivers attempting to access I-85 southbound from SR 42/North Druid Hills Road or Corporate Drive. According to GDOT’s advisory, motorists traveling eastbound or westbound on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road who need to reach I-85 southbound should use the I-85 northbound Frontage Road and Clairmont Road as an alternate route. Drivers coming from Corporate Drive are instructed to follow a detour that includes the I-85 southbound Frontage Road, SR 42/North Druid Hills Road, I-85 northbound Frontage Road, and Clairmont Road before reaching I-85 southbound.

“Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones,” stated GDOT in its announcement. “Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.”

Further details about the construction project can be found at I-85 at State Route 42 North Druid Hills Road – 0016054 (arcgis.com).
