Traffic disruptions are expected on Interstate 85 and State Route 42/North Druid Hills Road from July 25 to August 3, 2025, due to ongoing construction work. The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced a series of lane closures and detours during this period.
Daytime closures will occur on Saturday, July 26, and Saturday, August 2, from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., affecting lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound between Buford Highway and Briarcliff Road.
Overnight closures will take place starting Friday, July 25, through Sunday, August 3. These closures will affect various lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road in both directions from Buford Highway to Briarcliff Road between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Additional pacing operations will occur in the same area during these times.
Detours have been set up for motorists traveling on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road to I-85 southbound and northbound. Drivers are advised to use designated frontage roads and Clairmont Road as alternate routes.
