The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced a series of lane closures and detours related to the ongoing Interstate 85 at State Route 42/North Druid Hills Road project in DeKalb County. The scheduled closures will impact various lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road westbound from Briarcliff Road to Buford Highway, starting at 9 p.m.
The I-85 southbound off-ramp to SR 42/North Druid Hills Road will also be closed until 11 a.m., with motorists advised to continue on I-85 southbound and use Lenox Road (Exit 88) and then I-85 northbound to access SR 42/North Druid Hills Road.
From Monday, August 25, at 9 p.m. through Friday, August 28, at 6 a.m., additional closures will affect both eastbound and westbound lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road between Buford Highway and Briarcliff Road. Three right or left lanes on I-85 northbound and southbound from Clairmont Road to Lenox Road will also be closed, ending at 5 a.m.
Motorists are being urged by the Georgia Department of Transportation to plan for delays and drive carefully through the work zones. “Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.”
