Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced a series of lane closures on I-285 and SR 400 for the Transform 285/400 Project. These closures are set to take place from July 14 through July 20, 2025, subject to weather conditions.
Contractors will carry out punch list activities, which may result in travel restrictions such as delays, reduced speeds, and detours in some areas. GDOT advises motorists to check the project web page regularly for updates.
Overnight lane closures will occur from Monday to Friday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. On July 14 and 15, one left lane on I-285 westbound from Chamblee Dunwoody Road to SR 400 will be closed.
For motorists traveling on I-285 eastbound to Roswell Road, GDOT suggests using Exit 26 Glenridge Drive or Hammond Drive as alternate routes. Those heading from Roswell Road to I-285 should follow designated detour maps available online.
On July 16, Abernathy Road travelers aiming for SR 400 northbound should use Peachtree Dunwoody Road and Hammond Drive or Mercedes-Benz Drive (Barfield Drive) as alternative routes.
Thursday’s closure involves one right lane on SR 400 southbound from Northland Drive to Windsor Parkway. Friday sees the closure of one left lane on SR 400 northbound CD lanes from North Springs MARTA Station to Spalding Drive.
GDOT reminds motorists that construction dates may change due to weather or other factors and urges drivers to reduce speed through work zones while remaining alert for workers.
