The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced lane closures on Interstate 20 at the CR 249/Old Mill Road interchange project site. The traffic impacts are scheduled to occur from now until Sunday, June 29.
During weekdays, from Monday to Friday between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., alternating right- and left-lane closures will be in effect on both eastbound and westbound lanes from mile marker 102 to 104.5. If necessary, traffic may be paced in increments of 15 to 20 minutes.
On weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., similar lane closures will take place on I-20 eastbound and westbound within the same mile markers. Again, pacing of traffic might occur as needed.
In addition to these schedules, further weekday closures are planned from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., independent of the bridge demolition activities. These will affect I-20 near the rest area.
Motorists should anticipate delays, exercise caution, and reduce speed while navigating through work zones. For real-time updates on work status and traffic conditions, travelers can call 511 or visit the website at 511ga.org or use the Georgia 511 app.
