The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced a series of overnight and weekend lane closures for the Interstate 85 at State Route 42/North Druid Hills Road project in DeKalb County. The closures will take place from August 11 through August 18, 2025.
Overnight closures are scheduled from Monday, August 11, through Friday, August 15, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., affecting various lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road eastbound and westbound from Buford Highway to Briarcliff Road. Additional overnight work is planned from Tuesday, August 12, through Saturday, August 16, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
There will also be detours in place during this period. The I-85 northbound off-ramp to SR 42/North Druid Hills Road westbound will be closed. Motorists traveling on I-85 northbound who need to access North Druid Hills Road westbound should use the I-85 northbound Frontage Road (Exit 89 B) and the I-85 southbound Frontage Road as an alternate route.
Continuous weekend closures are set for Friday, August 15 at 9 p.m. through Monday, August 18 at 5 a.m., impacting various lanes on SR 42/North Druid Hills Road westbound from Buford Highway to I-85.
Motorists are advised by GDOT: “Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones.” Drivers can check real-time traffic conditions or updates by calling Georgia’s travel information line at 511, visiting 511ga.org, or downloading the Georgia 511 app.
