Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractors are set to continue resurfacing work on State Route 154/Memorial Drive in DeKalb County. The project extends from the Fulton County Line/Moreland Avenue to SR 10 and aims to improve the deteriorating roadway, ensuring a smoother ride for drivers.
On Sunday, June 8, weather permitting, crews will implement alternating left and right “rolling” single lane closures from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday morning. This phase involves lowering manholes and water valves before paving begins. Some noise may be associated with these activities.
The $5 million project is expected to be completed by late summer 2025. Motorists should anticipate delays and are advised to exercise caution and reduce speed while traveling through the work zone during construction hours. For real-time updates on work status and traffic conditions, drivers can call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
The Georgia Department of Transportation manages state and federal highways in Georgia and is involved in various transportation-related programs including bridge, public transit, rail, aviation, bike, and pedestrian initiatives.
