The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced temporary lane closures as part of the ongoing State Route 400 Express Lanes project. The work will take place along a 16-mile section of SR 400, stretching from the MARTA North Springs Station in Fulton County to about one mile north of McFarland Parkway in Forsyth County.

According to GDOT, weather permitting, contractors will close traffic lanes at various locations to carry out roadwork activities for the express lanes. Both southbound and northbound directions on SR 400 will be affected by nightly rolling single left-lane and shoulder closures between SR 141 (mile marker 25) and Abernathy Road (mile marker 8). These closures are scheduled from Monday, February 23 through Wednesday, February 25, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Additional daytime shoulder closures are planned for the northbound entrance ramp from McFarland Parkway on February 23 and February 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., as well as on SR 400 northbound from Union Hill Road to McFarland Parkway on February 25 and February 26 during the same hours. The northbound exit ramp to Mansell Road will also see a daily shoulder closure on February 23 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cross streets near the project area will experience nightly right-lane or right-turn lane closures between Sunday, February 22 and Friday, February 27. This includes Spalding Drive eastbound from Trowbridge Road to Dumaine Trace, Peachtree Dunwoody Road at Spalding Drive, and Spalding Drive at Peachtree Dunwoody Road—all occurring between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Motorists are advised that delays are expected in these areas and should exercise caution while traveling through work zones. GDOT encourages drivers to reduce speed when approaching construction sites. Work schedules may change due to weather or other unforeseen factors.
