The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced temporary lane closures as part of the State Route 400 Express Lanes project. The construction covers a 16-mile stretch of SR 400, from the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) North Springs Station in Fulton County to about one mile north of McFarland Parkway in Forsyth County.
According to GDOT, weather permitting, contractors will close various lanes along SR 400 and nearby roads for roadwork activities between January 11 and January 16. Both southbound and northbound directions will be affected during nighttime hours, with some daytime closures scheduled for specific ramps and intersections.
Motorists should expect delays and are urged to exercise caution and reduce speed when traveling through work zones. “Work schedule updates can occur, so check the SR 400 Express Lanes website for the latest updates. Additionally, before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions by calling ‘511,’ visiting 511ga.org, or downloading the ‘Georgia 511’ app,” GDOT advised.
GDOT also stated that any personal information provided by subscribers is used only by the department and is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
