The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) has announced temporary lane closures on the I-285/I-20 East Interchange project, scheduled from Friday, June 27, through Wednesday, July 2, 2025. The closures are part of ongoing efforts to reconstruct interstate ramps and add lanes along I-20 and I-285.
Daytime closures will occur daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., affecting various sections of I-20 Eastbound. Specific locations include Wesley Chapel Road to Panola Road and Columbia Drive to Wesley Chapel Road. Connecting lanes between the I-285 Interchange and Wesley Chapel Road will also see similar closures.
Flagging operations will be in place at Snapfinger Road under the I-285 overpass and Miller Road between Panola Industrial Boulevard and Chatooga Drive from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Overnight closures will run from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., with some extending until 6 a.m. or starting as late as 8 p.m. These will affect both directions on I-20 and I-285, involving single to double lane closures at several points including Columbia Drive, Glenwood Road, and Panola Road.
Additionally, traffic pacing operations are planned for parts of I-20 Westbound during these hours. The Miller Road Bridge over I-20 remains closed with detours in place until approximately September 2025.
No work restricting traffic will occur between Thursday, July 3, at 10 p.m., through Monday, July 7, at 10 p.m., ensuring no disruptions during this period.
