The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) has announced upcoming lane closures and traffic impacts as part of the ongoing Transform 285/400 project. The closures are scheduled to take place from August 13 through August 15, 2025, and will affect sections of I-285 and SR 400.

According to the department, contractors will be performing punch list activities that include work on traffic signals. While the signals will remain operational, there will be intermittent traffic stops during these operations. Emergency vehicles will continue to have access to local hospitals throughout the duration of the work.

Travelers in the affected areas should expect possible delays, reduced speeds, and detours. The overnight operations are planned for Wednesday, August 13, and Thursday, August 14, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., impacting Abernathy Road between Barfield Road and Peachtree Dunwoody Road as well as Ashford Dunwoody Road at I-285.

Additionally, there will be overnight closures affecting I-285 westbound collector-distributor lanes to Roswell Road. Motorists using these lanes will need to follow a detour via Exit 24 Riverside Drive and then use I-285 eastbound to reach Exit 25 Roswell Road.

“Exact construction dates may change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are cautioned to reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Pay attention and watch for workers. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit http://www.511ga.org/or download the Georgia 511 app,” stated Georgia DOT in its advisory.

The department encourages drivers to check the project web page regularly for updates on schedules or detours.
