Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones announced at the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s annual Eggs & Issues Breakfast that state leaders are pursuing policies aimed at strengthening families, fostering economic growth, and maintaining Georgia as a desirable place to live and work.

“We’re working to advance commonsense policies that keep Georgia the best place to live, work, and raise a family,” said Jones. “It’s always a pleasure to join the Georgia Chamber’s annual Eggs & Issues event to discuss what Georgians can expect from the legislature this session.”

Jones made his statement in a January 14 social media post on X. The message describes participation in the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s Eggs & Issues Breakfast, an event held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta that features speeches from state leaders on legislative agendas. The post includes a photo and focuses on policies for family and economic stability.

The Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s Eggs & Issues Breakfast serves as a key forum for business leaders and policymakers to outline priorities for the legislative session. Georgia maintains a strong business environment with low taxes and investments in infrastructure, ranking eighth lowest in tax burden nationwide. The state has generated substantial job growth and capital inflows, supporting rural and urban communities alike.

State business climate rankings highlight competitive advantages across the U.S., with factors like taxes, workforce, and infrastructure influencing corporate decisions. In 2025, North Carolina led CNBC’s Top States for Business list, followed by Texas and Florida, reflecting Southeastern dominance. National trends show increased focus on predictability and government support amid economic shifts.

Jones was born on April 25, 1979, in Jackson, Georgia. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in history and founded an insurance company. Jones served in the Georgia State Senate from 2013 to 2023, holding committee leadership roles before his election as Lieutenant Governor in 2022.
