Today, Lt. Governor Burt Jones announced the appointment of Senator Larry Walker III to the Senate Special Committee on Eliminating Georgia’s State Income Tax. This committee is tasked with finding ways to completely eliminate the state income tax for all Georgians.
Senator Walker expressed his gratitude for the appointment, stating, “I’m honored to be appointed by Lt. Governor Burt Jones to serve on this important committee.” He emphasized the significance of this effort in shaping Georgia’s economic future and highlighted the importance of ensuring that any proposed changes are fiscally responsible and beneficial for Georgia’s families and businesses.
The committee aims to explore solutions that reduce the tax burden on Georgians while fostering a competitive economic environment. Although steps have been taken in recent years to lower income tax rates, many residents still experience significant financial pressure from taxes.
Senator Blake Tillery will lead the committee as Chairman.
