Nikol Boyd has been announced as the new principal of Taylor Road Middle School, according to a May 14 statement. Boyd said she is honored to join the school community and looks forward to becoming part of an institution known for its tradition of excellence, strong partnerships, and commitment to student success.
Boyd highlighted her nearly 30 years in education and over 19 years as a school leader within Fulton County Schools. She said her experience includes serving as principal at Esther Jackson Elementary School, where she focused on improving instructional practices, building a positive culture, and ensuring access to high-quality learning opportunities for all students.
“I am excited to become part of a school known for its tradition of excellence, strong partnerships, and unwavering commitment to student success,” Boyd said. She also noted her personal connection with the district as the mother of two adult daughters who attended Fulton County Schools. “Their experiences helped shape my belief in the power of strong schools and dedicated educators,” she said.
Boyd emphasized her enthusiasm about joining Taylor Road because of its reputation for academic achievement and sense of community. “Middle school is a pivotal time in a student’s journey, and I am committed to ensuring that each student feels supported, challenged, and inspired as they grow academically, socially, and emotionally,” she said.
Looking ahead, Boyd stated that her initial priority will be listening and building connections with staff members, families, and students. “I believe deeply in the power of teamwork,” she said.
