Dougherty County officials have announced the scheduled closure of the Oglethorpe Boulevard bridge for a replacement project. The bridge will be closed to traffic starting July 22, 2025, and is expected to reopen on July 22, 2026.

The contractor has been authorized to close the bridge for a total of 365 calendar days to complete the replacement. During this period, alternate routes will need to be used by commuters and residents in the area.

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) assures that any information provided by subscribers will be used exclusively by GDOT. “The Department does not sell or offer a subscriber’s personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.”
