Ogletree Deakins announced on May 21 that Corie Anderson, a shareholder in Minneapolis, has been selected as co-chair of the firm’s Manufacturing Industry Group.
The appointment places Anderson alongside Michael McKnight, office managing shareholder in Raleigh. The Manufacturing Industry Group supports manufacturers with employment law challenges such as labor relations, workplace safety, wage and hour issues, and regulatory compliance. The group includes several members who were previously in-house counsel for manufacturing companies. Anderson herself spent eight years working in the Legal and Human Resources department of an outdoor recreation manufacturer.
Anderson brings nearly three decades of legal experience to her new role. Her background includes defending and advising employers on matters involving wage and hour laws, immigration issues, discrimination claims, disability accommodations, harassment allegations, employee discipline and termination processes. She also has experience handling workplace investigations by the Department of Labor and other government agencies.
“Corie’s background is a tremendous asset to this group,” said Michael McKnight, co-chair of the Manufacturing Industry Group. “She brings firsthand knowledge of what our clients face every day, and her experience across all types of labor and employment issues only strengthens our ability to provide the best possible service.” Ogletree Deakins recently selected four new co-chairs for its practice and industry groups; further information is available through the firm’s Media Center.
Ogletree Deakins reports that it employs more than 1,100 attorneys across 60 offices worldwide. The firm handles various employment-related legal matters including traditional labor law cases, workplace safety concerns, employee benefits issues, and business immigration matters.
