A contractor for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will carry out concrete maintenance on the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Bibb County during overnight hours on August 19 and 20, 2025. The work is scheduled to take place from mile marker 166, with activities running from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Shoulder closures are expected during the maintenance period. The area affected stretches between Riverview Road and Riverside Drive.
Motorists traveling through the work zone are advised by GDOT to expect delays, use caution, and reduce speed. GDOT encourages drivers to check real-time traffic conditions before traveling by calling 511, visiting https://511ga.org/, or using the Georgia 511 app.
According to GDOT, the department is responsible for planning, constructing, and maintaining state and federal highways in Georgia. It also supports bridge, waterway, public transit, rail, aviation, bike, and pedestrian programs across the state. Nearly 4,000 employees are dedicated to providing a transportation system that emphasizes innovation, safety, sustainability, and mobility as part of efforts to strengthen Georgia’s competitiveness in transportation leadership.
