A Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractor will conduct overnight concrete maintenance on Interstate 75 Northbound in Monroe County from August 27 to August 28, 2025. The work will take place between mile marker 188 and the area stretching from Johnstonville Road to Cabiness Road. Maintenance activities are scheduled between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., with shoulder closures expected during this period.
Motorists traveling through the area should anticipate possible delays and are encouraged to use caution and reduce speed in the work zone. GDOT advises drivers to seek real-time updates on traffic conditions and construction status by calling 511, visiting https://511ga.org, or using the Georgia 511 mobile application.
According to GDOT, “Georgia Department of Transportation plans, constructs and maintains Georgia’s state and federal highways. We’re involved in bridge, waterway, public transit, rail, general aviation, bike and pedestrian programs. And we help local governments maintain their roads. Georgia DOT and its nearly 4,000 employees are committed to delivering a transportation system focused on innovation, safety, sustainability and mobility. The Department’s vision is to boost Georgia’s competitiveness through leadership in transportation.”
