Maintenance crews will be conducting repairs on two bridges along I-75 in Catoosa County next week, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. The work is scheduled for overnight hours on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 19 and 20.
On Tuesday night, from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Wednesday, two right northbound lanes will be closed over Peavine Creek between mileposts 352 and 353. On Wednesday night, the same closure will occur over State Route 146 between mileposts 353 and 354.
Motorists are being advised to expect delays during these periods and to use caution when traveling through the affected work zones. “Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app,” officials stated.
The Georgia DOT noted that maintenance teams continue essential repair work while following health agency guidelines related to coronavirus safety measures. “Our maintenance team members who repair roads and bridges and our project teams who oversee construction projects are continuing their essential work, while following sanitary work practices prescribed by health agencies to protect themselves and the public from the coronavirus, as are most state DOTs in the U.S.”
